Ruger SR45 Pistol
The new Ruger SR45 has a lot of the features for which you’ve been asking—like the .45 ACP chambering and a slender profile with a polymer grip frame that has a reversible back-strap, so that you can have it flat or arched. It has a high-visibility three-dot sight system, a loaded chamber indicator and a lower accessory rail, and it comes with either an all-black Nitride finished or two-tone brushed-stainless slide. It’s DAO, has a 4.5-inch barrel, an 8-inch overall length, weighs 30.15 ounces empty and has a mag capacity of 10+1 (ruger.com).
Boberg Arms XR9-S Pistol
A unique design makes the XR9-S one of the smallest lock-breech 9mm pistols in existence. Boberg’s XR reverse-cartridge-feeding technology allows for the fitting of 3.35-inch barrel in a gun with an overall length of 5.1 inches, with the ejection port centered above the grip frame. This “bullpup” pistol carries the cartridges in the magazine nose-forward into the back of the magazine. They are then lifted directly into the chamber, so no feed-ramp is needed. An egonomic grip with a low bore axis makes this tiny DAO 7+1 shooter reliable and controllable (bobergarms.com).
