The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Aerospace Force on Tuesday, November 29, 2011, received a large number of air defense canons manufactured by the Iranian Defense Industries. The 100mm air defense guns named “Sa’eer” were delivered to the IRGC Aerospace Force during a ceremony attended by the commander of the force, Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh, and Defense Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi.

The Russian 100mm antiaircraft gun KS-19 was introduced in the late 1940s as the replacement for the wartime 85mm guns. It found use in all of the old Warsaw Pact armies, and though it has been largely replaced by surface-to-air guided missiles, the KS-19 is still in use in some armed forces in the world. The KS-19 has a semiautomatic horizontal sliding wedge breechblock, a power rammer, an automatic fuze setter, and is fitted with a long multi-baffle muzzle brake.

Nice “desert tan” paint job. Next time we see these field pieces they will probably be “hellfire black.”
