Iran Nuclear Weapon Capabilities Closer: Report

The U.N. atomic agency has received new and significant intelligence…

The U.N. atomic agency has received new and significant intelligence over the past month that Iran has moved further toward the ability to build a nuclear weapon, diplomats tell The Associated Press.

They say the intelligence shows that Iran has advanced its work on calculating the destructive power of an atomic warhead through a series of computer models that it ran sometime within the past three years.

The diplomats say the information comes from Israel, the United States and at least two other Western countries and concludes that the work was done sometime within the past three years. The time-frame is significant because if the International Atomic Energy Agency decides that the intelligence is credible, it would strengthen its concerns that Iran has continued weapons work into the recent past – and may be continuing to do so.

Because computer modeling work is normally accompanied by physical tests of the components that go into a nuclear weapons, it would also buttress IAEA fears outlined in detail in November that Tehran is advancing its weapons research on multiple fronts.

If you are paying attention, the middle east is quite different now. Unfortunately, our president wants to caudle the muslim extremist world for fear of offending them. Iran has threatened complete destruction of Israel (that’s a terrorist threat in the real world) for all you liberals! I guess we just have to stand-by and hope nothing happens like the victims we are becoming.

    Hmmm

Israel has been claiming that Iran is on the verge of building a nuclear weapon for nearly 30 years. Thats right way back in the 1980’s Israel was claiming that Iran is less than a year away from building the bomb. Israel has maintained this farce ever since. It is of course important to note that over the last 30 years Iran has actually built zero bombs. On the other hand Israel has built SEVERAL HUNDRED MORE nuclear weapons. If the US were truly worried about nuclear weapons proliferation in the Middle East we would have sent the Marines to Israel not Iran.
