Ichiro Nagata was presented with a customized Sig Sauer gun based on the X5 platform specially for his shooting competition events at the 2008 Bianchi Cup.   The gun was customized by one of Sig Sauer’s German gunsmiths, Mr. Betterman.

With the customized Sig gun, Ichiro received a perfect score on the Falling Plate and Practical events he competed in.  “This gun is perfect. Next year I’ll do better with SIG Sauer’s X5. It has a soft trigger pull. I love it!”

Yes, when function triumphs over coffee table displaying pleasure, folks can come up with some pretty god-awful stuff. I’d like to see a 1/2″ NPT pipe coupling welded to the side of that scope mount to give it even more of a ‘Sten gun’ look and feel.

THAT’S A FUCKING UGLY ASS GUN!!! I HAVE AN X5 COMPETITION MYSELF…WHAT THE HECK DID MR. BETTERMAN DO TO IT?
IT’S A GORGEOUS GUN AND DOESN’T NEED ANYTHING ELSE TO IMPROVE IT.
IT IS THE ULTIMATE RIGHT-OUT-OF-THE-BOX SUPER SIDEARM!
I HAVE TO HAND IT TO THE GERMANS…THEY MAKE GREAT HANDGUNS.

  • Way to go Ichi!
