The GLADIUS MAXIMUS light features a multifunctional tailcap that allows quick selection of momentary on, constant on, strobe, dimming or lock out. This is done with positive, intuitive, single finger operation on a durable, aluminum chassis with a lithium powered, 120 lumen LED light. Since the GLADIUS is LED, the run time for the batteries can last up to 90 minutes at full power, important when batteries have to be carried as a new form of rapid reloads. The excellent GLADIUS with a length of just over six inches is made for hand carry, but is shock resistant enough for weapons’ mounting. MSRP is $249.99.

xiphos-nt_closeup.gifThe BLACKHAWK! XIPHOS weapons mounted light has a new “Cam-Clamp” that allows installation on many different types of open and closed rail mounts. For operators that have or use various weapons with proprietary rails, it is important to have a light that can be easily switched, but will affix quickly and securely with no tools. This is what the XIPHOS offers. It also has ambidextrous controls for all programmed functions that the operator can use with his firing hand. The XIPHOS will provide 90 lumens of LED light for over two hours from one 6 volt battery that can be easily replaced with no tools required. MSRP of $199.99.

ally.gifThe Ally PL3x XTR uses the next generation 3-watt CREE LED that produces 85 lumens on high power (2 hours) and 12 lumens on low power (20 hours). On hi power the PL3x XTR will illuminate objects and faces up to 65 meters away. At only 5.25” and at 4.7 oz with 2 CR123 lithium batteries, the Ally PL3x XTR is 60% brighter than the previous generation. It comes with a pocket clip and has a MSRP of $174.99.

x400_large.gifSurefire
The SureFire X400 is a powerful LED weapon light with an integrated red-laser sight mounted below its solid-state LED light. Its versatile beam and highly visible laser makes the X400 an ideal choice for law enforcement, military, and self-defense applications. The X400’s recoil-proof LED has no filament to burn out or break and it generates 110 lumens of blinding white light—and continues producing tactical-level light for 2.4 hours on a set of batteries. A Total Internal Reflection (TIR) lens gathers virtually all of the LED’s light and projects it forward creating a tight beam with enough surround beam to accommodate peripheral vision. The red-light laser features an output of 5 milliwatts at a wavelength of 635 nanometers, making it nearly twice as bright—and much more visible and less affected by high temperature —than other red or green lasers. And because the laser sight’s adjustment uses Nylok® screws, which won’t back out from the effects of recoil, the X400 rarely needs to be re-zeroed. The X400 features a hard-anodized aerospace-grade aluminum body and a Pyrex® window that protects the X400’s electronics while O-rings and gaskets make it water resistant. And the X400 attaches to both Universal and Picatinny rails via its proprietary Rail-Lock™ system, and comes with adapter plates for both. An ambidextrous toggle/push switch provides ergonomic, fail-safe operation, and optional SureFire grip switches allow precision control without altering one’s grip on the weapon. The MSRP is $455.00.

hl1.gifThe Surefire HL1-C-TN is a compact, multiple-output Helmet Light in tan that features three white LEDs, two red LEDs, and one blinking infrared LED that serves as a personal Identify Friend or Foe (IFF) beacon. The white primary LEDs are perfect for general-purpose, close-work illumination; the red secondary LEDs serve the same purpose in a low-signature, night-vision-friendly color. The Helmet Light attaches via a special mount that clamps semi-permanently to the rim of any Modular Integrated Communications Helmet (MICH) by means of two socket-head machine screws. Once the mount is attached, the light can be easily slid onto the mount, where it locks in place; depressing a small lever slides it right off, so the Helmet Light can be quickly removed for servicing or transport onto its optional Z71 carry clip, which attaches to any MOLLE or ALICE vest. MSRP is $159.00.

Hi. Maybe you can compare these flashlights too:
Neofab Legion II; Jetbeam M1X; Fenix TK40. They might be the best flashlights in 2009.

Legion II has the best real torch lumens output, and TK40 can be driven with AA cells.
