Fred Perrin is a former French Army Commando and a highly acclaimed martial artist and close-combat instructor. He is also one of Europe’s premier custom knifemakers known for his uniquely functional designs optimized for military and personal-defense use.
Perrin’s Street Bowie design is one of his most popular handmade patterns and one of Spyderco’s earliest custom collaborations. Back by popular demand, the new production of this amazing knife features a non-reflective ceramic blade coating and an enhanced polymer sheath design.
The Street Bowie’s flat-ground VG-10 stainless steel blade offers both power and finesse. It features a straight clip point that centers the tip for maximum control and penetration. The injection-molded fiberglass-reinforced-nylon handle is permanently bonded to the tang of the blade for strength and features high-traction Kraton® rubber panels. This construction, along with Perrin’s signature index-finger groove and extended “jimping” (textured grooves) on the spine of the blade provide an exceptional grip in even the most demanding circumstances.
Injection molded from durable polymer, the Street Bowie’s newly redesigned sheath has a high throat for improved retention while still providing a full grip on the knife at the outset of the draw. It also includes Spyderco’s versatile G-Clip attachment, which supports both belt carry and clip-style inside-the-waistband carry. Configurable for vertical, horizontal, or diagonally canted carry, the G-Clip and can be attached to both sides and both faces of the symmetrical sheath to provide the broadest range of carry positions and edge orientations. The sheath’s grommet-style construction allows it to be easily lashed to any MOLLE platform with parachute cord and its narrow design makes it ideal for discreet, space-efficient placement behind magazine pouches.
The Street Bowie is an incredibly versatile knife that is ideal for both utilitarian and personal-defense applications. It is also a reflection of its designer, Fred Perrin, and his exceptional understanding of functional simplicity. MSRP $149.95
