Flexibility. Capable of adapting to new, different or changing requirements. The more flexibility your body has, the less likely it’ll be injured. Defensive trainers extol the virtues of being able to change tactics or weapons at a moment’s notice. Survival experts believe those knowing something about almost everything have a better chance in survival situations. Obviously, some ideas about flexibility strike a positive chord with me.

To save departments and LEOs money, equipment should be flexible, able to do more than one job. AR-type rifles should work at long range and in CQB. Handguns should be ready for concealment and qualifications. But what about a flexible shotgun, one capable of more than just a quick barrel change? That’s the Mossberg’s FLEX System.

Given parts, time and tools, virtually any shotgun can be converted to a different configuration. That’s not my idea of a practical and flexible firearm. It wasn’t Mossberg’s idea, either. With the FLEX System, operators can easily customize or reconfigure 500/590 shotguns by swapping recoil pads, forends and stocks.

Its all good except the slide release is not long enough to reach with your thumb. I ran into this when i installed the spec -ops furniture. the sight is a little large as well…in my opinion. I would recommend the C-More sight. has worked great for me when having to go from breach to breach and clear immediate threats.
