Holster technology continues to march on, as yesterday’s gun buckets have given way to excellent designs that offer superior fit, retention, comfort, user access and—if necessary—better concealment qualities. Although many firms continue to craft holsters from leather, synthetics have caught on in a very big way and offer their own special advantages.

I’ve been checking out a few different holster designs over the last several months, all having capabilities just a little beyond the ordinary.

BlackHawk’s SERPA Light Bearing Holster allows the user to carry a concealed pistol with the Xiphos NT light attached.

The DeSantis Facilitator is a Kydex concealment holster with a protected retention lock release located on the inboard side of the holster.
