Legislation requiring record-keeping of every ammunition sale is pending in the Albany County (N.Y.) legislature. The bill would require retailers to record the type, caliber and quantity of ammunition sold; the name and address of the person receiving the ammunition; the caliber, make, model, manufacturer’s name and serial number of the firearm for which the purchaser is buying ammunition; the date and time of the transaction; and the identifying number of the purchaser’s handgun permit and/or driver’s license. These records would have to be kept on file for 10 years.

or just drive 10 mins to a “friendly county”, or buy online… no paperwork. Senseless law and a waste of time.

This makes a lot of sense, not really. Most people have more then one gun in a particular caliber and most bulk sales are for range use. Lots and lots of paper work and time I guess someone needs that job.
