Call of Duty: Black Ops I

According to an official U.K. website from publisher Activision, video game players can, indeed, expect what has been rumored for weeks: Call of Duty: Black Ops II is the next installment of the hit first-person shooter.

The website lists a date of Nov. 13, 2012, for its release.

A description of the game on the website suggests Black Ops is moving into modern-day combat. Here’s what it says:

“Pushing the boundaries of what fans have come to expect from the record-setting entertainment franchise, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 propels players into a near future, 21st century Cold War, where technology and weapons have converged to create a new generation of warfare.”

Most COD players hated Black Ops, but I thought it was a breath of fresh air for FPS games.

The “Future” element is something we haven’t seen in any COD game, so that’s also pretty exciting.
