Connecticut lawmakers consider toy gun ban (video).

You put yourself in the position of a police officer…

You put yourself in the position of a police officer that shows up at the scene and this is what the police officer sees. What’s the police officer supposed to do? Say, ‘Oh, it’s just a kid. I’m not going to worry about it. He’s just a 17-year-old high school student. A 17-year-old high school student wouldn’t shoot and kill anybody, would he?'” asked Windsor Police Chief Matthew Reed.

A reference to the Ohio high school shootings earlier this week where 17-year-old T.J. Lane is the suspect. Lawmakers here are looking to ban guns like this. Toys that have been altered to look like the real thing.

“I’m just completely flabbergasted and amazed that a toy gun looks like this. I had no idea,” said Conn. Rep. Kim Fawcett, a Democrat from Westport.
