Alone in a Movie Theater

A 46-year-old man with a loaded handgun was arrested Tuesday night at a Connecticut movie theater showing “The Dark Knight Rises.”

Sung H. Hwang was charged with breach of peace and interfering with police after officers said they found a handgun in his waistband. He had a permit to carry the weapon, police said.

Officers arrived at the Criterion-Bow Tie Cinemas shortly after 10 p.m. Tuesday after managers reported a man inside with a gun. It wasn’t clear whether the call was about Hwang or someone else.

About a dozen people were inside waiting for the movie to begin, police said. Officers asked each of them to raise their hands and file out, where they were patted down, according to a news release.

He had a CCW permit and got arrested anyway and all he was doing was minding his own business? He didn’t pull it out or brandish it at all? The police should definitely be sued for illegal arrest. They had zero right to take him in. That said he should’ve been doing a better job concealing his weapon. Concealed means concealed.

So much for the constitution those officers swore to uphold.

Can anyone explain to me why this guy was arrested? Was he taunting people? Was he brandishing the weapon? If not this guy should sue the PD for wrongful arrest! This is just ridiculous. It is not our privilege to defend ourselves, but our God given right. If this guy wasn’t breaking any laws then what the hell is the problem here???
