The US Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) has awarded major jet fuel contracts to fifteen different companies, including Shell and ExxonMobil.

The US Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) has awarded major contracts to fifteen different companies — including ExxonMobil, Shell, Alon USA, Valero and Phillips 66 — for the purchase of jet fuel. The contracts will run through April 2015 and the DLA will get the money from fiscal 2014 defense working capital funds.

Shell Oil Products, a subsidiary of Royal Dutch Shell, won the majority of the contract with awards totaling over $1.6 billion. The awards from the 15 different companies collectively add up to over $5 billion.
