(CNN)– Former Mexican President Vicente Fox is calling for America to open the debate on the legalization of marijuana.  Fox joins three other ex-leaders of Latin America who say the current drug policies are not working.  “I Believe it’s time to open the debate over legalizing drugs,” Fox stated in an interview with CCN on Tuesday. “It must be done in conjunction with the United States, but it is time to open the debate.”  Fox blames America for not only providing weapons to drug cartels, but for also creating the high demand for drugs that led to the surge in drug cartel violence.

Rod Munch your wrong is’t not so simple to “close the G** Damm borders” or seal the south off. It can’t be done a fence wont work, Hell we have an army of border patrol at the borders now and we only get a small portion of the drugs coming in. The drugs will keep coming in as long as Americans want them and are willing pay for them. It would be much cheeper to legalize the drugs get the tax money from the sales, and use the money to treat the addiction that comes with it. People in this country are going to use drugs no matter what the laws say we might as well get on the right side of this.

  • I’ve been active in taxations for longer then I care to admit, both on the personal side (all my employed life!!) and from a legal viewpoint since satisfying the bar and following tax law. I’ve offered a lot of advice and rectified a lot of wrongs, and I must say that what you’ve put up makes perfect sense. Please carry on the good work – the more people know the better they’ll be armed to comprehend with the tax man, and that’s what it’s all about.

Legalize drugs??? America is to blame for arming the cartels??? How about a much easier and cost effective plan – close the g**damn borders. Seal the South off. Keep out the illegals, the drugs, the whatever.

What is happening to this country?! Do we not protect our own anymore?? Oh wait, that’s right, be are too busy spending and taking care of others. This country is goin to hell in a handbasket!

Yes I believe that legalization of marijuana would take a big bit out of crime and would produce tax dallors that would help our current economical problems the usa should regulate marijuana like alcohol were you can’t smoke and drive smoke at work or out in public as far as weapons are concerned the mexican government crack down on guns crossing the border in to mexico as should the american government stop the weapons on there side felons on both sides should not be able to get weapons
