Law enforcement agencies statewide are being invited to participate in the Fredericktown Police Department’s 1st annual Christopher Parsons Special Response Team roundup May 18 at the Fredericktown Training Facility.

“We are doing this to honor CP. He was a great person whose life was cut short in the line of duty. There will be multiple events and it’s really going to be a fun day. It’s also a chance for law enforcement from around the state to come together and compete in tactical situations,” said Fredericktown Police Supervisor Eric Hovis.

The roundup will consist of several events designed to simulate real life scenarios. Team members are required to be mission ready with all department-issued equipment necessary to complete a high risk warrant, hostage rescue or barricaded gunman scenario. Members should be ready to adapt if an officer should go down during an engagement.

In addition to the competition there will be food and vendors. The public is invited to attend. A $3 entry fee will be collected at the gate.
