Free Cakes for Kids Thanks to NJ Veteran Couple

Free Cakes for Kids, a charity that gives birthday cakes to the children of active-duty military and veterans, expanded to New Jersey.

Free Cakes for Kids, a charity organization that donates birthday cakes to the children of active-duty military personnel and veterans who can no longer afford to buy them, just expanded to Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst in New Jersey. The new chapter of the children’s charity was started by Caitlin Koether-Sumner and her husband, Spc. Jeff Sumner, who relocated to the east coast in September soon after joining up with the Fort Hood, Texas chapter of Free Cakes for Kids.

The organization has about 20 volunteers so far, all of whom will bake cakes for the children of active-duty military members or veterans, no matter the rank.
