The Justice Department said Tuesday that Republican lawmakers are engaging in distortions by asserting that Operation Fast and Furious arose from a strategy created by the Obama administration.

In a report following an 18-month probe of the flawed gun-smuggling investigation, Rep. Darrell Issa of California and Sen. Chuck Grassley of Iowa said that the administration shifted the emphasis in fighting Mexican drug cartels from merely seizing firearms to identifying the networks that traffic them.

Operation Fast and Furious “was born from this strategy,” the report concluded.

    just another case of those in power getting away with breaking the law and trying to say the end justifies the means. The death of LEOS is not justified.

    Some questions;
    Where are the political cartoons showing Eric Holder, blood on his hands, hiding behind Obama’s skirts? Where is the outrage that after all those deaths of Americans and Mexican nationals not a single ATF/DOJ employee has been disciplined even though BOTH sides admit that the operation was illegal and performed by “rogue” agents? Instead of making a segment about Van Gogh’s death not being a suicide (now THAT is something people care about), how about CBS “60 Minutes” doing a report about who is behind the death of Brian Terry?

    The answer to all – the media WILL NOT point out Obama’s errors, gaffes and in this case compliance to acts that could be illegal. The media is NOT in line with America.
