Man, 29, arrested after SWAT standoff in Perry South

A 29-year-old Pittsburgh man is facing charges after a standoff in Pittsburgh’s Perry South neighborhood early Thursday morning.

Police said they were called to a home on Veterans Street after a receiving a call about a domestic violence incident involving a gun.

Officers said when they arrived a woman reported that her friend was involved in a violent dispute with her boyfriend inside of the home. The woman told police that the woman’s boyfriend struck her in the mouth causing her to bleed.

The woman said as she was leaving the house she heard her friend screaming for help and to call police.
