Military Lifestyle Survey Examines Needs of Military Families

An online survey aimed at assessing the needs of current and former members of the armed forces and military families is now being conducted. The project is a collaboration between military family support organization Blue Star Families and the Institute for Veterans and Military Families at Syracuse University.

The survey, which is called the Military Lifestyle Survey, “examines key trends within the military family community. The purpose of this survey and overall research project is to help identify and explore the issues that face those who serve in the military and their families,” according to the Blue Star Families website.

The survey “takes a proactive look at the current needs and priorities of military families and service members and what can be done to support them,” the website adds. “The goal of the survey is to provide concrete data and information about prominent aspects of the military lifestyle so that decision-makers can make informed choices on their behalf.”

This is the fifth time the survey has been conducted. It will be available at www.bluestarfam.org/survey until March. The results will be announced in the fall of 2014.
