The Nassau County Police Department plans a three-hour gun buyback program, to take place at a Hempstead Village church on Saturday, offering $200 for each operable handgun.

The gun-for-cash transactions, which will be anonymous, are funded with forfeiture accounts from the Nassau district attorney’s office and the police.
