Many neighbors say they weren’t surprised when they woke up to police officers and a SWAT situation in front of Robert Lester’s Corrales home.

The New Mexico Probation and Parole Department asked for the help of Rio Rancho SWAT as well as Albuquerque police officers and New Mexico State Police because they believed 58-year-old Lester was armed and dangerous.

Lester was wanted because he stopped reporting to his probation officer, but also has pending charges of harassment against Bernalillo County District Court judges, according to the New Mexico Department of Corrections.
