To help secure the U.S. — Canada border, North Dakota will receive more than $9.6 million in DHS grants; the funds are aimed at helping local law enforcement agencies prevent a terrorist attack, secure the border, and bolster emergency preparedness

To help secure the U.S. – Canada border, North Dakota will receive more than $9.6 million in DHS grants.

The funds are aimed at helping local law enforcement agencies prevent a terrorist attack, secure the border, and bolster emergency preparedness.

Of the money, more than $5 million comes from the State Homeland Security Grant Program which is designed to address organizational, equipment, and training needs at the state and local levels to prevent, protect against, respond to, and recover from acts of terrorism and other catastrophic events.
