A free cake might not seem like that big of a deal, but the gratitude behind the gesture made all the difference in the world to one Florida military wife.

The red velvet cake meant to welcome home Alicia Jones’ husband came with a note that read, “Please enjoy your time with your family. Thank you so much for your sacrifice.”

Alicia Jones went to Publix on the way to pick up her husband at the airport.Home from deployment in Bahrain for 2 weeks, this was his first time seeing his daughter. So Jones got him a red velvet cake to say welcome home…

“When I went back to pick it up at 2:00 the lady at the bakery just gave it to me and said there’s no charge and there was a note and i just started crying, and I said thank you so much, thank you, we appreciate those things.”
