A hip-hop mogul has pitched an idea to the New York Police Department that would reward people who surrender their guns with tickets to Beyonce and Jay-Z concerts, according to the New York Daily News.

Michael “Blue” Williams of Family Tree Entertainment — who has managed Cee-Lo Green and OutKast — says he is awaiting the green light from the NYPD police commissioner Ray Kelly to jumpstart the “Guns for Greatness” program.

In a letter to Kelly last week, Williams wrote: “This program aims to provide young people with an opportunity to receive guidance and inspiration from committed mentors, an important option that will enable them to experience possibilities other than a life surrounded by gun violence and unnecessary shootings and killing.”

The rocket science here is amazing … to think anyone would trade in $500.00+ weapon for $100.00 tickets – that sounds like a Republican… but I just wonder if the program was designed not only to get weapons off the street – but stolen weapons recovered also???

“Guns for Greatness”?! WTF. Sooo…who pays for the tickets? If they will be donated, I’ll tell you why: “…guidance and inspiration from commited mentors…”. Since when has anyone gotten that from Beyonce? I know this might get some truly dangerous or illegal weapons off the streets, but this is what it comes to?

I wonder how many guns will be stolen to trade for tickets?

  • Lol all the gangbangers girlfriends are gonna tell they boo that dey wanna go see beyonce for sho. You betta be givin dem 5-0’s dat burner so I can get dem tickets lol. Let’s see how many guns they get when they offer some rock concert tickets instead because beyonce can’t find a bullet proof vest that’s slutty enough to wear on stage during the concert. I hope this comes off as funny to everyone and not racist. I just wanted to project the mental image I was having Haha.
