October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month

Domestic Violence Awareness Month encourages practices to improve law enforcement response to domestic violence.

As Domestic Violence Awareness Month approaches, the International Association of Chiefs of Police encourages departments to reflect on the impact of domestic violence in in their community, provide effective services for victims and survivors of intimate partner violence, and disseminate information about the resources and tools available to support victims of violence.

The IACP has collaborated with the U.S. Department of Justice, Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) to create numerous resources on domestic violence.
