Logan-Hocking School District of central Ohio is working alongside local and state law enforcement to update its school safety plan with the help of new software.

“Recently we have entered into a partnership [with] Warren Innovations and Navigate,” said Josh Straus, assistant principal at Logan High School. “It is going to be to able to give local law enforcement and state law enforcement access to our district safety plan, building maps, [and] floor plans much quicker.”

Straus said that prior to the new system, the district would prepare digital copies of the building maps and floor plans as PDFs to local law enforcement offices. This was a slower process, he said, because every time a plan was updated a new copy would have to be sent. The new software, however, allows all documents to be uploaded and accessible when needed.

“The software is very valuable. I was really happy to see [Logan-Hocking School District Superintendent Steve] Stirn make this purchase. It is money well spent,” Straus said.
