WASHINGTON – A judge’s decision to release a group of Chinese Muslims from Guantanamo Bay into the United States has been temporarily blocked by the U.S Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit. The Bush administration asked that the release be postponed for at least another week to allow the government more time to make arguments in this case. The detainees have admitted to receiving weapons training in Afghanistan and were considered a threat to national security. However, they had been cleared of wrongdoing. The Bush administration is continuing efforts to find another country to accept the group fearing they might be tortured if returned to China.
