Pete Brownell Named President of Brownells, Inc.

January 18, 2008

Sixty-eight years after Bob Brownell hung his shingle as a gunsmith, his grandson, Pete Brownell was named the president of Brownells, Inc. as of Jan. 1.  Pete is now the third generation of Brownell to lead the company.

Former company president, Frank Brownell, remains with the company as chairman and chief executive officer.  He will remain actively involved in the Brownells family of companies.

“Dad founded the company on the foundation of providing customers unsurpassed service, selection and satisfaction,” Frank Brownell commented.  “I’ve done my best to carry on that tradition.  I’m positive that as Pete transitions into his new role, he’ll continue to put our customers atop his priorities.”

Officially joining the company in 1998, Pete spent nine years in his previous position as Brownells vice president.

“Brownells has been a great friend of the NRA and the Second Amendment. Frank and Pete, and the entire company, have been very generous with their financial support of NRA programs,” said Wayne LaPierre, executive vice president of the National Rifle Association.  “On behalf of NRA’s four million members, I offer Pete my sincere congratulations and support.  He has some very large shoes to fill, just as Frank filled the shoes of the generation before him.  I’m confident the company will be in great hands for years to come.”
