A Pierce County Sheriff’s deputy shot and killed a 50-year-old Yelm man who pulled out a gun during a traffic stop Friday morning, the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office said.

The deputy pulled over the man in the 6900 block of Highway 702 about 1 a.m. Friday. After he was stopped, the man got out of his car with a gun and said, “This whole thing ends here.” The deputy then fired on the man, the Sheriff’s Office said.
