OAKLAND, Calif. – When an internet video surfaced of a BART officer fatally shooting a passenger in the San Francisco transit, audiences throughout the nation tuned in to watch and replay the clip millions of times.  In response to the situation, a few hundred San Franciscan protesters took to the streets of downtown Oakland to condemn the shooting and call for criminal charges against the officer.  However, the protests turned into rioting as demonstrators smashed windows, set fire to cars and blocked streets.  Oakland police reported at least 14 arrests.
