The Republican chairman of a House investigative committee circulated a proposal to hold Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt, accusing him of refusing to cooperate in the panel’s inquiry into a botched gun trafficking operation known as Operation Fast and Furious.

The contempt proposal distributed to panel members by California Rep. Darrell Issa, chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, said Holder’s Justice Department failed to hand over documents in 12 of 22 categories of requests made by House investigators.
