Atlanta police are looking for the gunman who shot one of their officers in northeast Atlanta on Thursday night. Witnesses are being questioned.

The shooting happened just before 11 p.m. at a Zesto diner on Moreland Avenue in Little Five Points. Police said the officer was leaving the restaurant when a barrage of bullets came his way.

“The officer was actually getting a drink at the Zesto’s and as he was returning to his patrol car is when he heard the shots and then realized he had been struck,” Atlanta police Lt. Paul Guerrucci said.

I won’t If it was a pistol caliber carbine? Like the many that take glock mags and such. “A barrage of bullets” ? Crazy person who shouldn’t have had a gun in the first place. Hope That LEO is alright!

M110? A lot of the time the person behind the gun will dictate its capabilities. even if it could be precise out to 1K. if there were casing left on the ground we wouldn’t have to guess. based on what your saying and since rifles are always better than handguns…id guess it was a handgun

I guessing it would have to be a rifle/carbine of somesort to be able to hit anything short of the broad sid of a bard. Let alone a person with a rapid succession of shot that were fired.
