Police say weather plays a factor in the amount of crime they’ve seen lately. This weekend there has been one homicide, two gang related shootings, armed robbery and an attempted murder.

Officers say when the temperatures start to warm up, more people are out and about late at night where more fights can be provoked.

Friday night a man was shot to death in his car at Acosta Plaza in Salinas. On Saturday there were two shootings in different parts of town. Police are still investigating if all three shootings are connected.

On Sunday morning a Salinas teen was nearly stabbed to death walking home from a party. It happened at 745 North Sanborn. Police say a 17 year old teenager stabbed multiple times by three suspects. Police believe attack was gang related.
