Many Shooters, Multiple Shots

It’s more than deadly force teamwork that gets out of control!

They’re all over the news and editorial pages. Shooting incidents with multiple shooters firing many shots at what may be a single individual. People who don’t understand the dynamics of armed encounters can’t grasp the concept of such an incident being justifiable. Their only frame of reference is TV and the movies, where a single shot by a single person in a blue uniform or a white hat sends the bad guy flying out of the fight. They assume it must be a death squad at worst, or blind panic at best that’s at work, and they are unlikely to forgive either one.

firstresp21.jpgThe result has been some hideous injustices wrought by the justice system on good guys who fired in good faith for reasonable cause. While the majority of these incidents, and all the high-profile ones, have involved law enforcement and the military, armed citizens can become involved in such shootings as well.
