The men, the training and the weapons for this most elite group!

The term “elite” when applied to presidential protection units can have myriad meanings. In some countries, the term may refer to royal guard units in fancy dress uniforms, often mounted on horseback. In other cases, the term may be used for highly trained close protection teams such as the US Secret Service or Great Britain’s SO14 or SO16.

france2.jpgSome elite military units are also trained to provide close protection services in special situations. The Special Air Service, for example, has augmented protection for the British Royal Family or the Prime Minister on several overseas visits. American units such as DevGroup or Delta have also been used for specialized VIP protection duties in certain high-threat situations.
