Kingdom Knives’ Compact Hunter
The new Vermontana knife has the classic looks of a Ruana hunter, but folds into a big-game hunter’s perfect companion.

The state of Vermont is home to a serious fraternity of outdoorsmen, many of whom are dedicated deer, bear and moose hunters. It makes sense that somewhere in this community a knife maker of note would eventually step forward. Just such a man is Donald Cota, Jr., the President of Kingdom Knives. An engineer for over 30 years, involved in machine and aerospace technology, Don spent six years studying knife-making before he launched Kingdom Knives.
Located in St. Johnsbury, Vermont, which is in the extreme northeast corner of the state, Kingdom Knives took its name from the fact that this region has been dubbed the “Northeast Kingdom.” However, it was the idea that the double capital “K” back-to-back made a nifty company logo that really spawned the company title.
