62-year-old off-duty security guard with CCW halts Palm Bay bank robbery with 9mm.
A 62-year-old off-duty security guard is being credited with thwarting an attempted bank robbery in Palm Bay this afternoon.
The attempted robbery occurred just before 2 p.m. at the Space Coast Credit Union at 150 Malabar Rd., not far from the Palm Bay Police Department headquarters.

German pigs find World War II anti-tank weapon.
German police say a couple of hungry pigs digging for food came nose-to-nose with a long-buried World War II anti-tank weapon.
Police said Friday the two pigs found the single-shot “panzerfaust” on private land southwest of Dresden.

New Call of Duty: Black Ops set for Nov. 9, 2010 release date.
It seems Treyarch’s next adventure in the Call of Duty universe will take them out of World War II for the first time.

Tennessee town gets $10,000 grant, money from sales of confiscated weapons to buy body armor.
The city of London has been awarded $10,080 from the state Law Enforcement Protection Program (LEPP) to purchase body armor, Gov. Steve Beshear announced today.
Under the LEPP, administered by the Kentucky Office of Homeland Security (KOHS), appropriate agencies can seek financial help for certain defensive items essential in the course of their duties.

CNN Video: Arizona police officer sues over immigration law.
A police officer in Tucson, Arizona, asks that local law enforcement be exempt from enforcing the state’s new immigration law in a lawsuit filed in federal court on Thursday.

Iowa governor signs standardized concealed weapons law.
