Grant aims to stop guns, money from crossing Arizona border into Mexico.
Attorney General Terry Goddard announced a new grant Wednesday aimed at helping to stop guns and money from crossing the Arizona border into Mexico.
According to Attorney General spokeswoman Molly Edwards, the $418 thousand grant will be used to cut off movement of guns and currency to the Mexican drug cartels.

30 cartel members arrested in northern Mexico.
Mexico’s navy on Wednesday announced the arrests of 30 members of the Gulf drug cartel following several armed confrontations in the northern state of Tamaulipas.
At least one marine and eight cartel members were killed in the firefights, navy spokesman Jose Luis Vergara said, according to the state-run Notimex news agency.

Selma-based American Apparel received great news last week, when it was awarded three military contracts valued at $50 million.
