What’s new and exciting in handguns for 2007!

Each year, members of the gun industry make their annual pilgrimage to the Sporting, Hunting and Outdoor Trade (SHOT) Show, the gathering of just about everyone and anyone connected to the field in any way; to sell, buy or simply to look and handle what’s new in firearms and related products.

I also see that each Show, for me, develops a handgun theme. For example, last year was “the year of the 1911,” where it seemed as though every other booth had a “new” 1911. This year showcased the results of a gamble by some handgun makers who chose to take part in the US Military’s request for a new handgun to replace the current 9mm Beretta M9 (M92). The specifications mandated the handgun be chambered in .45ACP and could not be a 1911.
