Springfield Custom Professional Light Rail .45ACP

Check with your dealer, or on any website, and you’ll discover that demand for the Springfield Professional Model far outstrips supply. In 1998, Springfield won a contract to provide approximately 5,000 custom 1911 pistols to the FBI regional SWAT Teams. The Professional Model was born in Springfield’s Custom Shop and built to the Bureau’s demanding specification. Nine years later, Springfield is still equipping the FBI and other special units with what is arguably the best 1911 in the world.
Gun Details
The first Professional Model delivered to the FBI between 1998 and 2005 was a basic 1911. It lacked the fashionable full-length recoil spring guide and front cocking serrations. The Bureau also specified a Nowlin barrel and national match bushing. When combined with a hand-cut and fitted frame and rail, the Professional met the demanding accuracy requirements the Bureau set forth. An extended ambidextrous safety, beavertail grip safety and Smith & Alexander magazine well completed the add-ons. Per Bureau specifications, low-mount Tritium Novaks sat atop the slide and the front strap and mainspring housing had 20 lines-per-inch (lpi) checkering. The Bureau also specified Black-T as the finish on all Professionals.

I should have picked up one of the Springfield Professionals but I picked up a Kimber 4″ 1911 PRO carry11 with a Light rail. after 40 to 50 jams I know I messed up!
