SAVAGE ARMS 110 FCP .338 LAPUA MAG
Sub-MOA tactical precision rifle that bends the rules of physics and economics!
The 110 FCP HS Precision in .338 Lapua Mag is shown equipped with the optional Tri-Rail scope mount fitted out with a Vortex Tactical Razor HD 5-20×50mm optic, a Laser Devices DBAL-A3 aiming laser and SureFire Model M720V-BK light.
“Bill, I have a question for you and I need a direct answer. Are you guys practicing the dark arts up there in Massachusetts?” Although my question to Bill Dermody, marketing director for Savage Arms, was obviously facetious, it was based on my recent range experience with one of the company’s newest rifle offerings—the Model 110 FCP HS Precision in .338 Lapua Mag.
Bill laughed and told me that he was not that surprised by my question, but asked me why I posed it. “Well, I just shot a 10.7-pound .338 Lapua Mag that gave me sub-MOA results and kicked less than many .308 rifles I have shot. Oh, and all for a retail price of $1,499. So, you can see why I thought you were magically bending some unbreakable laws with this one.”
The steel detachable box magazine of the 110 FCP HS Precision holds five rounds of .338 Lapua Mag in a single column.
In fact, in my mind, this rifle bent many of these rules, namely those of physics and economics. To be honest, I was not excited about shooting this gun at first because I did not see how a gun that weighs less than 11 pounds in this chambering could be anything but a beast. I learned very quickly that this was not true. In addition to making a lightweight .338 Lapua Mag that is a pussycat to shoot, Savage did it in a package that matches or exceeds the performance of rifles that cost two to three or even four times as much.
The muzzle of the Savage is equipped with a highly capable muzzle brake that tamed recoil significantly during testing.

Lapua brass is the way to go!

I just received my Savage Model 111 LRH in two weeks ago from Firearmsforyou.com. I installed a Nightforce NXS 5.5-22X50 on the top. Awesome Scope!! I was sighting it in at 100y and just as Savage says they are very accurate. Even my bad shooting I was still in 1″ groups, my buddy was getting them down to .5 to .75 grouping. He is a little better than I.
All in all love the gun and was very impressed with Savage. I will defiantly be buying more Savage products in the future.

Norma does NOT make brass for the 338 Lapua, because of quality control issue’s.

This new offering from Savage is totally Awesome!. I want to invite all concerned to bring the model 110 FCP in 338 to Cool Acres Range and put it to the test all the way out to 1200 yd Currently we are shouting the Savage model 12 with great success

The reason Norma brass costs more is because it is “Match”brass. It must be within 1/2 of 1% of CIP specs. CIP is the European equivalent of SAAMI. It is also “proof” brass…capable of being loaded as “proof ammunition” which is loaded at a 300% overcharge to proof test new rifles and rifle barrels. It is the highest quality brass in terms of concentricity that any company can manufacture. When you compare it with ordinary commercial brass it also is capable of being reloaded more than twice the number of times. Please when you evaluate brass be sure to compare these advantages when you are considering the cost. This is the reason the brass is so popular with match shooters, where accuracy is the primary consideration.

NORMA AND LAPUA BRASS ARE MACHINED AND THICKER THAN ANYOTHER MANUFACTURES AND HAVING VISITED NORMAS HOME PLANY IN ÅMOTFORS SWEDEN IT IS A MASTERPEICE OF SIMPLICITY AND MACHINERY AT WORK ALL CASINGS ARE HANDLED WITH THE CARE. RELOADERS CAN TELL U CAN FIRE AND RELOAD LAPUA & NORMA BRASS TWICE AS MUCH AS ANYOTHER BRAND.

338 Lapua costs a lot more than 338 win,338 rcm or 338 RUM.I’d wait for a 338 RUM Remington 700P or higher end 700 precision rifle.I have no idea why 338 Lapua costs about twice the 338 RUM.
