All about quick weapon access at bad-breath distances!

plainclothes.gifIn his most recent issue of Tactical Talk, the official newsletter of the Rangemaster Training Center, founder and lead instructor Tom Givens revealed a few interesting statistics:

FBI Agent Involved Shootings (1990s): an average of 20 to 30 shootings a year, all in plainclothes, as FBI Agents have no uniformed duties. Roughly one-half of agent shootings are criminal acts committed against the agent like robberies, which vary little from attacks on citizens. About 93 percent of these shootings occurred from 6 to 10 feet with an average of 3.2 rounds fired.

DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) Agent Involved Shootings (2007): 44 defensive shootings with an average distance of 14.6 feet with an average number of shots fired being five.
