Key Kitty Ready Self-Defense Weapon

A new key fob, named Key Kitty, is appealing to women for its ready use as a self-defense weapon. The key fob is shaped like a cat’s head, with a flashlight button in the nose position, two holes where the eyes would be, and two sharp triangles for the cat’s ears. Women can put two fingers through the eye holes, and carry the cat’s head key fob in their hand, with the points facing outwards. If someone approaches them they can hit back with the sharp points of the Key Kitty.

In these difficult economic times, women are often working more than one job, and taking on shifts at different hours. With more responsibilities and juggling between different locations, having quick access to keys is very valuable. Women digging for keys in their purses has become cliche, yet it is very common, and a huge source of stress. Having a key ring that attaches to a woman’s purse is so valuable that hundreds of new products have emerged addressing this seemingly mundane need. But it is Key Kitty that has combined self-defense with utility. Keykittytv.com
The Key Kitty key fob provides:
- a flashlight to see a keyhole or steps at night;
- a retractable key or ID holder;
- a clasp to consistently hang keys in the same place in one’s purse;
- a quick release clip; and most significantly,
- a sharp object to deter an attacker if need be.

@ Josh & S … there are several places, New York City for one, where handguns are well nigh impossible for a law-abiding civilian to obtain.
A personal defense class would be a better answer … one the police cannot confiscate. Many years ago I had a friend who taught a class in street fighting. Probably there are others like him.

Oh my god you must all be american, carry a gun!? I have never walked down the street and thought ‘man I wish I had a gun on me just in case’. I hold a full shotgun licence, own 3 so have the up most respect for guns but would never carry one. Oh and this kitty thing, I could see that hurting you more than someone else

False sense of security, just like with pepper spray the user will likely be hurt by using this also.

This device has been popular in Korea for over a decade. You can buy them from DealExtreme.com. They are popular in countries where not only do women not have the right to a firearm, but pepper spray as well.

Seems kinda silly….If a woman actually wants protection…..CARRY a GUN…End of Story

whomever designs these hates women, or has a messed up sense of humor.

Joshua, bullshit.
Whomever came up with this was an idiot.
If a woman wants to defend herself, she should carry a gun. These toys will just ensure she gets beaten (or murdered) while she gets raped.

These look clever and all, but as a former officer, I have been in several situations where we have confiscated them, both metal and polymer. As a self defense instructor, I also see these as impractical. The finger holes are oddly spaced, and in the unlikely event they are the right size for your fingers, then chances are the ear “prongs” are so long they actually present the danger of breaking your fingers when striking someone.

Nice! Whoever came up with that is serious about the self-defense of their family. Nice work.
