Springfield Armory XD(M) .45ACP Compact
Since we introduced the XD(M) Compact in 9mm and .40, our Customer Service department has been swamped with requests for a .45 version. So, we’ve been frantically developing an amazing product that combines concealability and high capacity, with a big bullet, that, like all XD and XD(M) models focuses on Point & Shoot Ergonomics.
The genius of the XD(M) Compact design is that it doubles as a full-size frame model with the use of the XD(M) Gear Mag X-TensionTM (US Pat. 7191556) that offers a full-capacity back-up magazine. It’s also a great range option for people that don’t want to have to buy both a CCW, and a range pistol.

“.45acp out of anything shorter than a 4.0″ barrel lacks enough velocity and is just retarded!”
Disagree with the above statement. It’s all about the application and ammo. I own 9mm, 40, 45, 41magnum & 357magnum and I can tell you that a compact 45 with today’s advances in ammo technology is just fine. Corbon DPX 45 will perform just fine in a compact 45. No disrespect just my objective opinion based on 20+ years of military experience.

Some people complain that a short barrel .45 is lacking. Tell that to anyone who gets one in the chest an see what they say, if they can still talk. Manstopper is still what the’re called. They were designed for close-quarter trench warfare 100 yrs. ago.
