World’s best air-to-ground aircraft has just gotten even deadlier!
The A-10A Warthog was the first US Air Force attack aircraft specially designed for close air support (CAS) of ground forces. It is a simple, effective and survivable twin-engine aircraft that can be used against all types of ground targets, including tanks and other armored vehicles.
The primary mission of the A-10A is to provide close air combat support (CAS) for friendly land forces and to act as forward air controllers (FAC) to direct other friendly aircraft in close support of ground troops. These missions will often take place at low altitudes and in high threat environments.
