Ranger T-Series for some serious handgun power and the gel 5.56mm bullet for CQB training!
I just returned from the Winchester factory in East Alton, Illinois. I watched machines churn out their justifiably famous “Value Pack” 9mm 115-grain FMJ load 400 rounds at a time. But I was really there to get a peek at the enhanced Ranger T-Series of law enforcement ammunition.
A continued evolution of the Supreme Expansion Technology (SXT) bullet, the new bullet features a reverse taper jacket. It’s thicker at the front and inside the hollow nose and thinner at the square heel. The base is open.
The idea is to keep deep penetration, a darling parameter of the FBI protocol to determine the practicality of defensive handgun ammunition, while increasing expansion.
