FB24 JUMPMASTER
Major Bryan Hernandez of the U.S. Army’s 82nd Airborne Division contacted Spyderco with the aim of sourcing a better knife for their Jumpmasters. The Army’s wish list included a rust-proof hollow-ground H-1 blade with a profile somewhere between a Hawkbill and a Sheepfoot. To keep the knife firmly in hand yet light and easily maneuverable, the FB24’s handle is made of fiberglass-reinforced nylon (FRN) Bi-Directionally textured and is skeletonized. The blade is housed in an injection molded polymer sheath. A G-clip on the sheath offers multiple attachment options and a lanyard hole in both the blade and handle are for additional back-up attachment. Specs: overall length of 9-5/16 inches; blade length: 4-1/2 inches; weighs 5.37 ounces. Visit www.spyderco.com.

SOG CONTRACTOR
Ready for work! The new “themed” SOG Contractor 2×4 will be at home in the work apron or clipped inside the pocket of any tradesman or handyman. The bead-blasted, 3-inch, stainless steel bladed folder has a rolled point and straight edge design that allows great pressure to be exerted on the blade and tip when cutting tough jobsite materials. The 2×4 does more than cut. Other handy features include: handle holes designed for wire stripping; bubble level; pocket clip that resembles a putty knife; blade lock shaped like a claw hammer; pencil sharpener; ‘circular saw’ one-hand opening pivot wheel; and to top it off, there’s a lucky nail housed in the handle! GENTLEMAN’S TACTICAL
Lone Wolf Knives’ new Paul Defender has all the functional characteristics of a true tactical folder, but carries striking good looks that make it a sweet EDC for gents. Designed by Paul Poehlman, the inventor of the Paul Axiel locking mechanism, the ambidextrous Defender is quick to open or close with one hand. The 3.9-inch 154CM high-carbon, stainless steel blade is designed for utility and piercing with a flat ground edge for strength and ease of re-sharpening. The Defender’s frame has thumb-notching just behind the blade on the top of the handle combined with its taper forward design to provide a positive grip. There are two handle options—one being a beautiful contoured, checkered AAA grade cocobolo wood—the other a black checkered G-10 that is slightly slimmer for rugged tactical use. PUMA 4-STAR STAG
No, we’re not talking about circa 1970’s sneakers. The PUMA we’re talking about here has been making some of the world’s best knives since 1769 and is one of the oldest trademarks in Germany. The 4.8 ounce PUMA 4-Star continues this tradition. The PUMA 4-Star Stag handled knife is made from high-grade German 440A steel and each 3mm-thick blade bears the distinctive “diamond needle” proof mark of a Rockwell hardness tester. The dovetailed drop-point blade is 2.6 inches long and features a strong lockback design. The PUMA 4-Star is made with brass bolsters and hand-fitted, naturally shed stag antler scales.
