SureFire’s Echo of the Battle

SureFire finds a need for a practical real-world combat knife and fills it with a blade bound to be popular on the front lines.

SureFire is best known for their high-intensity, hand-held flashlights and similarly bright weapon lights. After all, they essentially invented that industry and continue to lead it. Their lights are with virtually every soldier overseas these days. And then, of course, there are the hundreds of thousands of cops that carry SureFire lights, as well as the legions of regular citizens that have caught on.

echo2.jpgOne reason that SureFire continues to lead the industry is that Dr. John Matthews—the founder, CEO and head scientist of the organization—essentially gives his researchers a sandbox to play in. Once they come up with a new technology that seems promising, they then get it out to the field and into the hands of the many, many military and law enforcement units that they have direct, regular contact with.
