Tactical footwear has come a long way from the original combat boot with its simple leather uppers, thin leather sole and non-existent arch support. As a result, better versions of boots were introduced. Improvements in ankle and arch support, plus modern lightweight synthetic materials and better bonding techniques combined to make increasingly effective, comfortable, and versatile tactical footwear.
