G.I. Janes In Battle
Long excluded from combat positions, women are proving themselves as Air Force sharpshooters.

Long before al-Qaida terrorists struck on September 11, 2001, the U.S. Air Force had begun to teach an elite group of airmen how to deal with terrorist threats at installations in this country and abroad. But few people at the Pentagon knew about the training.
The program began operating “under the radar” in 1995 as an Air National Guard counter-sniper course taught by the U.S. Army at Camp Joseph T. Robinson in North Little Rock, Arkansas.
